■Takao's POV■

The small connected part of our forehead, spreads warmth through my body. My hands dared to hold her trembling shoulders as I try to keep her close to me.

Will you give me another chance?

Delicate fingers placed on my chest as she pushes me away from her, sending a panh to my chest.

Takao: Y/N...

Y/N uses her hands to wipes the tears that drenching her soft cheeks.

Y/N: you are versy selfish... I... still am not over you hurting me... even though my feelings for you are still here... it's not easy for me to be with you again....

Y/N picks up her heavy looking bag from the ground. She looks up at me and I can see how she's troubled with our encounter through her eyes.

Y/N: you... broke my trust... I thought I can make you happy... but you make me realizes that I can't-

Takao: that's not true Y/N, you've made me happy! Even just being by your side... I'm already happy... it's me who rob my happiness away from myself...

Y/N: and mine...

Dub dub

Y/N stares at me and how her words pierced my heart. Yes I rob my happiness and hers. And still dared to ask for a second chance.

But... I can't really let this pass..

Takao: yess... I'm sorry... but... I'll be shameless after all...

Y/N looks at me a little confused with my words. For her, I'll beg just so I can have another small chance.

Takao: I... will even beg...

■Y/N's POV■

Takao san stares at me, and his eyes are full of feelings. I feel conflicted, I do still have feelings for him, but, I don't thinkg I can be with him again.

Y/N: I... don't want to be in a relationship again Takao san... not yet... moreover with someone who made me like this...

Takao: alright... I won't pester you ti be with me... not yet... but, don't avoid me... let me show you how I'll try to earn your trust back... so..

Takao san takes a step forward and takes my bag from my hand.

Takao: let me... at least be by your side... I...

Takao san looks troubled before saying something.

Takao: if... in the end... you ended up find someone else that you like... I... wont force my feelings on you... but... until then, at least let me have my chance to pursue you back... at least... let me be your friend... a friend that has a crush on you...

How could he say that?

Listening to Takao san, my heart is even more conflicted by now. The way he said all of that as if he meant it, it's just hard to refuse it.

Why am I still have this soft spot for him?

A friend who has a crush on someone. It was me when I was sround Takao san during his heartbreak after Mikami san leaves.

Yes I, like him first. We were classmate, I always admire him. Takao san is a cheerful and humble person. He's very playful but likes to help others.

When Mikami san left, Takao san looks down during classes. He was smilling less and I somehow want to cheer him up, out of the fact that I'm crushing on him, I just want to see the cheerful Takao san back.

I try to talk more to him and help him out during classes. I came to watch him practice when I don't have club activities until he found out I tend to come to his practice and ask me to go back home with him and Midorima san.

We found out rhat our houses are close to each other and decided to go to school and home together. He opened up about his feelings, about being left behind by Mikami san. And I tried to cheer him up.

I never hoped that he'll look at me the way I look at him, but that day, when we hang out at the park, he told me that he catches feelings for me. Because of how I'm always around and he feels comfortable with me.

How happy I was when I heard that and ended up confessing my feeling. We got together and I think, I'll be able to make him happy and won't let him have his heart broken again like Mikami san, but I was wrong. He's the one who hurt me.

But now, he says he'll be the friend that crushing on me, it's like our part being reversed. Maybe being friends won't be bad after all.

We were friends before this too...

Y/N: being friends... I think... that will be okay...

Takao san looks relieved the moment I say that, he then let out a sighs and smile.

Takao: thank you... then... I can be around you, as your friend right? We... can also go home together?

It should be alright... right?

Y/N: that... it's alright...

Takao: thank you... Y/N... this is... a small step for me...

Dub dub

Takao: let's go... I'll walk you home... that's... fine right?

Takao san hangs my bag on his shoulder.

Y/N: I, let me hold my own bag...

Takao: no... friend should help each other... and don't refuse it...

As I look at his face, I just realized that there are still some wound on his face that probably scratches when he carried me that night.

Y/N: Takao san...

Takao: hmm?

Takao san looks at me waiting for me to say something.

Y/N: I'll... bring ointment for your scratches...

Takao san point at the wound on his cheeks.

Takao: no need Y/N, it's not hurt anymore after all...

Y/N: but... it'll leave scar... and moreover... friend... should not refuse help...

His eyes widened but then he smiles.

Takao: right... then... I'll be looking forward the ointment...

With that, Takao san and I walk back home together.

He said this is a small step for him...

But...

So am I...

This is a small step...

For me to arrange my feelings...

■3rd Person POV■

Y/N is standing near the station entrance. She looks at the time on her phone, it's on time. She looks around waiting for her companion of the day. As she waits someone calls her name and she looks at the direction, a smile plastered on her face.

Tamahiko: Y/N nee!

Tamahiko runs to Y/N, Kazuhiko walks behind him. Y/N crouches down and greets Tamahiko.

Y/N: good morning Tamahiko...

Tamahiko: good morning Y/N nee!

Y/N stands up and looks up at Kazuhiko.

Y/N: good morning Kazuhiko san...

Kazuhiko: good morning Y/N... did you wait for long?

Y/N told Kazuhiko that she too has just arrived. The three will go watch Godzilla at the cinema. Tamahiko and Kazuhiko's parents got three tickets to watch the premiere, but unfortunately Kazuhiko's grandparents is ill so their parents have to go to Hokaido.

Tamahiko has been looking forward to watch this and so his parents told Kazuhiko to watch with him, and Kazuhiko decided to invited Y/N for the other free tickets.

Y/N: thank you for inviting me to watch..  I should have pay for the ticket though...

Kazuhiko: no need, we got these tickets for free anyway... and moreover I have to thank you for agreeing to come... Tama is really happy when I told her you'll come..

Tamahiko: but... Nii chan is happier when he said Y/N nee wi-

Kazuhiko covers Tamahiko's mouth as  the younger boy tell out about him.

Kazuhiko: T-Tama...

Y/N laughs at the two siblings, Kazuhiko is mesmerized by her laugh. As he admire Y/N, he then remembers the day Y/N calls Takao name in her sleep. Kazuhiko tries to shook the thought away.

Kazuhiko: well... let's go...

The three watch the movie, and how Y/N can see that Tamahiko really is an avid fan of Godzilla. He looks excited when the Godzilla fought with the monsters.

After they watch the movie, the three head to eat. Y/N insisted on paying for their meal, but Kazuhiko won't allow her.

Tamahiko chooses to sit next to Y/N, as Kazuhiko sits across from her. Kazuhiko sees as Y/N help to wipes Tamahiko's mouth when he has ketchup on his lips.

The sights warm Kazuhiko's heart. That night, Kazuhiko feels like his heart is clenched, hearing how Y/N said Takao's name makes him realizes that she might still have lingering feelinhs for her ex.

On the train back to Tokyo, when Y/N went to the restroom. Kazuhiko talks with Nonoka, Kazuhiko could see how Nonoka cares about Y/N and hates Takao.

He asked about what happened and learned about the thing that happened between the two. Kazuhiko can't help but things that he can do better for Y/N.

Yes, Kazuhiko likes Y/N. And he won't back down that easly. He knows that Takao still have feelings for Y/N, but he too will not give up.

After meals, the went to the arcade and head to the park. Tamahiko plays at the playground with the other kids as Y/N and Kazuhiko sits on the bench.

Y/N: Tamahiko is really cheerful... it's easy for him to be friends with his peers...

Kazuhiko: yeah, that's his charm... that little troublemaker really is something...

Y/N laughs as she hears Kazuhiko jokes about his younger brother. Kazuhiko always glad whenever he gets to put a smile on Y/N's face.

The time shows that it's already 5, the theree decided to head back. Kazuhiko will walk Y/N back to the station.

Tamahiko is sleepy so Kazuhiko holds him and the boy sleeps on the older brother's arms. Y/N sees how close the two siblings are.

Y/N: Kazuhiko... you're really kind... I.. can see how Tamahiko loves his brother...

Kazuhiko's eyes widened at the compliment. He gulps down the nothingness in his throat and braves himself.

Kazuhiko: well... I've been around since he was born. So it's normal that he's attached to me... in fact, you're the one who's amazing...

Y/N: me?

Y/N looks at Kazuhiko a bit confused. The taller guy stares at the girl's eyes, how he hopes that he'll be the only one reflected on those eyes.

Kazuhiko: yes Y/N... you're amazing, you're kind... and gentle... though you guys met just recently Tamahiko... likes you very much... and...

Kazuhiko stop walking, making the girl looks at her friend. Kasuhiko looks at Y/N in the eyes, a bit of blush is visible on his cheeks.

Kazuhiko: so am I...

Y/N's eyes widened.

Y/N: Kazu...hiko?

Kazuhiko walks closer and stops in front of Y/N. Under the orange sky, Y/N's eyes looks gorgeous for him. Kazuhiko doesn't want to lose.

Kazuhiko: and I... also like you... very much...

Y/N's eyes widened as she hears the confession. The way Kazuhiko stares at her clearly tells how his feelimgs are. Y/N's mouth is slightly agape, Kazuhiko could tell how surprised the girl is.

Kazuhiko: but Y/N... you don't have to worry... I'm  ot planning on forcing my feelings onto you... but slowly... I'll try to show you... that my feelings are sincere... so please, don't avoid me after this...

Takao has his small steps...

To get another chance...

Y/N has the small steps to sort her feelings...
